Over the last seven years, we have developed "Site Editor", a website builder and web content management system which is suitable for publishing Websites, Intranets and Extranets.
 
Site Editor has evolved dramatically over this period and is now used with council projects, hundreds of small/medium businesses and other corporate projects. Site Editor is a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) database-driven web page creation and management system. No technical experience is required to use it and pages are published directly on to the system. No additional hosting, equipment or bandwidth is required ; Site Editor is a full system from web page creation to hosting of the pages either on the Internet or on a network.

Site Editor has been specifically designed to roll out both small and large-scale content-rich sites with multi-user management functionality. Its primary design goal has been to be very easy to use, so that any staff member can edit web pages and publish them - as long as they have the appropriate authorisation. The facility to have current staff editing areas on your own website makes it a very powerful tool and allows web pages to be updated regularly, with little effort, by several staff at once.
 
The finished web pages show no indication of being database driven. The web pages are generated and saved in seconds after amendments have been made, rather than dynamically displaying the web page information by database online. This means that the web pages not only display quicker in visitors' browsers, but also have much more success in the search engines as content rich textual-based web pages are much more search engine friendly than Flash/Java driven counterparts.
 
The template based system allows you to change the design of the website in the touch of a button. Templates can be changed or custom designs created without having any impact on the content, so giving your website a new look and feel isn't a worry. You can have a different design whenever you want! No matter who edits a page, all web pages designated under a template will have the same look and feel and will be displayed in the same manner. If a member of staff leaves, another can easily pick up where they left off because all web pages are created on the same system by the same method.

Looking through these sites, it is apparent that they are updated on a regular basis. This is because Site Editor has taken away all of the problems that website publishing usually creates. There's no management of HTML files, no FTP, and as soon as the text is changed Site Editor updates the website for you. One user interface is responsible for all aspects of the web site management.
